About the Book

Mr. Bumble is Kacy’s imaginary, but quite real friend. He goes everywhere she goes. Sometimes, he’s helpful; sometimes, he gets her into trouble. But they always have a great time together. Children can follow their adventures in the pages of this book. “My hope is that parents and teachers will use these stories to promote individualistic writing. My goal is to inspire the “child of today” to use their imaginations. As we know, too much TV and videos have stifled their potential of becoming creative individuals,” the author says. This book pleases parents for its easy and convenient reading with one book containing many stories. Kids love the feeling of a “big kid” chapter book, and the illustrations are a great bonus for them also.

About the Author

Betts Hinckley, a retired first grade teacher of thirty years; twenty-eight years in Kennewick, Washington and two years in Trier, Germany, lives with her husband, Jimmie, in Buena Vista, Baja California Sur, Mexico. These real life stories about the adventures of her darling dog, Charlie Girl, who is half Dingo and half Bassett Hound, are filled with humor and spirit. Oma Betts’ goal is to inspire children to write using their imaginations and become creative individuals. Each story begins with a poem to stimulate ingenuity. Her four granddaughters love to be read to, or actually read the stories in the “big kid” chapter book format. The illustrations are realistic and add character to each of Charlie Girl’s tales.
