About the Author
Mimi Evelyn Johnson, Ed.D., is a native of Tuskegee, Alabama and currently resides in Montgomery, Alabama. Dr. Johnson has held various professional positions in business and educational settings, including the fields of real estate, biomedical research, fundraising, and institutional research. Dr. Johnson began her postsecondary educational endeavors at Alabama State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in biology. She then obtained a master’s degree in public administration from Auburn University Montgomery. She later returned to Alabama State University and earned her doctoral degree in educational leadership, policy and law. She is the author of various professional articles and a book, Managing Organizational Change in an Educational Environment: A Case Study of the Merger of Two Technical Colleges. Service is important to Dr. Johnson. She gives back to the community as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.; the editorial board for the Science@ASU magazine; the Board of Advisors of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration at Auburn University Montgomery; Easter Seals Dogs on Call, and the advisory council of Success by 6, a subsidiary of the Family Guidance Center of Alabama, Inc. She is also the handler of Diva, her certified therapy dog.
