Waking up tied to a chair after being knocked out and thrown in a trunk; some would say Kevin deserved to be in the situation he finds himself in but not Dakota, a devoted wife that’s willing to stand by her man, no matter what. With lies, love affairs, family secrets, and revenge all playing their roles in their life can she continue to stay true to her true love? People accept and receive love in many ways and express it even more differently but love for Dakota is shown in ways one could never hope to receive. Being a Psychologist Dakota could figure you out in a matter of seconds but when it came to her husband, her first love, her everything, she was blind. Spending her days and nights trying to figure out when the love of her life became a stranger to her. While trying to figure out what was causing the changes in Kevin; she is thrown into a mist of chaos and dysfunctional patients. Whoever or whatever the problem may be; can she survive the outcome? After living with what she seen as the Devil, Dakota had to decide if she was willing to fight the Code of Silence or continue to live the painful life she was becoming a custom too. Having no choice in confronting her husband about the changes in his life she gets the kind of answers she wasn’t looking for; having no choice she had to turn to her longtime friend and co-worker Michael. Michael wants to be there for his friend; be the friend and shoulder she desperately needs but he is finding it hard to hide his true feelings for Dakota. Fearing what unforeseen fate they would encounter if he was to share his feelings with her; he remains silent. But what happens when she approaches him in a way a married woman shouldn’t, do he act on her request or turn away from his own desires in order to spare there lives? Once secrets are told and affairs are handled will it be enough to put their lives back together? With Kevin´s life on the line, who could be behind it all? One of her many patients or maybe one of the many enemies his job as a lieutenant has given him. Either way the journey of life is not a smooth one and one that they will soon forget.

My name is Eboni Allure and I was born and raised on the Eastside of Detroit, MI. I have been writing short stories since I was in Elementary School.
