About the Author

I was born the middle child of seven children, I have three older sisters, two younger brothers and one younger sister. We all grew up together on the south side of Chicago. At the age of eighteen, I moved from home to a studio on 51st and Hyde Park. I cannot say how many times I walked the few blocks to the Museum of Science and Industry. I wrote poetry on the lake front across the street from me. I loved to take the Illinois Central train, to the main library and I promised myself if I came everyday I would eventually read every book in the place, no matter the subject. If you have seent this library then you cannot imagine these aspirations of a young lady. I didn't get to read them all but I had fun trying. I enrolled in Columbia College on Lake Shore Dr. as a Journalism major. A long way from home I now live, retired in Sacramento California.
