About the Book

In the first installment of the Mary, Nicholas and Everybody series, Mary and her mom happily lived together. Each day, they were a little jolly family and Mary never felt that something or somebody was missing. Every day is perfect with busy mornings and tasty dinners in the evenings and with work and school in between.

Weekends were the best time for Mary and her Mom. Mary’s mom would pack their lunch, the plaid blanket and some books, and they would go to the neighborhood park. Mother and daughter have their own secret spot under a big oak tree.

One Saturday, while playing alone with her ball and running around looking for other new things to discover, Mary felt somebody was watching her. Slowly, she looked over her shoulder and found a boy her age. Could the boy be a friend or foe?

Author Tatiana Mihai Strugulea tells a wonderful story which explores the many aspects of human emotions and how children handle these emotions while interacting with different people in a variety of situations.
