A near fatal accident and subsequent 12 daylong coma were to change my life forever. I am just an ordinary woman now sharing this totally unexpected yet extraordinary adventure! Awakening within “another realm” and outside of my physical body, I was propelled into a spiritual odyssey of new insights on life, the essence we call God, and who I am as a person.

This book is a written account of both the journey and lessons learned during and after my amazing near death experience. Within these pages I piece together the wonders learned from the other side of reality and the other side of my soul - the wonder of meeting God.

Can a near death experience totally change a person’s life? It certainly did mine! Yet the lessons learned were not just for me alone. Perhaps, just perhaps, there is something inside of these pages that could help change your life too.

Deirdre (Dea) Dewitt Maltby is a fledgling author, now a spiritually transformed person with a remarkable and inspiring story to tell. Married with one grown son, she owns and operates an antique store with her sister within a small mountain town in Colorado. In 2011 Deirdre’s story was aired on the Biography Channel’s TV series entitled: I Survived…Beyond and Back. "There are ample books available on the Near Death Experience; many who are scientific in nature while other dabble in personal accounts, some of which, I was disappointed to learn just don't seem believable. (Betty Eadie and Dannion Brinkly's stories come to mind)

The writer of this book, Dea Maltby, seems sincere and profoundly changed by her NDE, which is a fascinating experience to say the least. It is rich in detail, vivid (as most NDE's are) and offers a wonderful glimpse of another realm where time and space don't exist and unconditional love reigns supreme.

This book is clear and well written. The author explains her NDE step by step. Though I am confused. When she arrives home from hospital, she keeps having these bizarre dreams that involve surgery tables, human cesspools and ""gifts"" (of love, I presume). Dea writes ""I was dreaming, but this was not a dream; this was

real"". Well, which is it? This makes you wonder if her NDE was in fact just an extremely vivid dream. I am just guessing here, Dea makes it very clear that her NDE was real. Also, it must be said, Dea's self-analysis of what has happened to her appears grounded. She constantly questions herself.

Dea seems profoundly changed by her experience, and she brings messages of love, peace and hope. She doesn't preach. She claims she doesn't belong to a particular religion, yet on a few occasions she quotes the bible.

Throughout the latter part of the book, Dea offers her journal entry's. I can't say I wasn't bored. Some entries are repetitive and some border on New Age rhetoric (unintentional, I'm sure).

There is always one factor which make the NDE seem credible or not, and that is in how the experience has altered the life of the person. According to Dea, she has found love and her soul has been transformed for the better. She has found peace. How many of us
