About the Book

Veronica M. E. Zuill grew up in North Shore, Pembroke East, in the most densely populated parishes of her homeland, the Island of Bermuda. She has one daughter, Marcelle and two lovely grandchildren Darius and Treiana. Veronica, better known as Ronnie, attended the Central School (currently) the Victor Scott Primary School and Prospect Primary School, in Devonshire. Education is of utmost importance to Ronnie. She furthered her studies at the Howard Academy and Sandys Secondary High Schools. After completing high school, Ronnie attended the Bermuda College where she graduated with distinction from a recognized Secretarial Skills Program; including such courses as Report Writing, English, Sociology and Bookkeeping. Ronnie is an active member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church at Heard Chapel. In community activities, Ronnie is a Youth Net Mentor in the Middle Schools and is a part of the Primary School’s reading programs for fi ve year olds.

She excelled in Women’s Softball. In 1978 she was a member of the Big Blue Machine, Bermuda’s National Softball Team that won a gold medal in Medellin Columbia CA. She was named Most Valuable Player in the C. A. C. Games. In 1999 she was inducted into the Bermuda National Sports Hall of Fame. Earlier, Ronnie played first base for the Devonshire (Recreation Club) Diamondettes in the Bermuda Petticoat Softball League. Reading is a top priority to Ronnie. She is a concerned parent, mentor and a person who takes delight in mentoring the total well-being of the child. She is inspired by God to write short stories for children. Her goal is to ensure that each child she comes into contact with is encouraged to take education seriously and make reading a priority.
