About the Author

Michael Gilfix, a graduate of the Stanford Law School, is a nationally recognized author, speaker, and estate planning attorney. He is a co-author of Tax, Estate, and Financial Planning for the Elderly, and a Contributing Editor for Trusts and Estates Magazine. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and a Certified Legal Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the State Bar of California. Often quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Michael Gilfix has a rare ability to convert "legalese" into understandable English. His law firm, Gilfix and La Poll Associates, focuses on tax, estate, elder law, and special needs planning in Palo Alto, California where he lives with his wife, attorney Myra Gerson Gilfix. He is also blessed with three adult children and a perennially juvenile yellow Labrador retriever.
