About the Book

A Christmas Story is about a typical American family who celebrates a traditional Christmas season. It is intended to instruct children in some basic fire safety practices, but the jest of the story is in the ornament characters that come alive each Christmas. These characters lie dormant in the attic most of the year but magically become animate to share the joy of Christmas with their host family, the Morris’s. I hope to touch the readers heart with the love and dedication shared by the characters and their family.

About the Author

Captain Tom Parker grew up in a small Mississippi gulf coast town. He took a B.S. degree from Mississippi State University and went to work as an engineer in the offshore oil industry. He eventually became president and C.E.O. of a company that designed and manufactured control systems for the major oil companies worldwide.

He traveled extensively during his career to Africa, Asia, the middle-east, London, Paris, Frankfort, and learned to love people and their cultures around the world.
