About the Book

We don’t live in a small town, we live in a TINY town, 300 people give or take a cousin or two. When strangers stop by they often ask “What do you do for fun around here?” We go to church, and when we’re not at church we’re visiting people from church. Around here you know people by which church they belong to. We belong to a great church. They are warm caring people that follow God’s word. They care about each other, and even strangers. People that visit here become family. Often when friends stop by, nobody intends it to turn into something but suddenly the phones are ringing, food is cooking and before you know it we have a really good time. Favorite recipes are shared, family is caught up on, and somebody pulls out a guitar. I hope you’ll try some of my recipes with your friends, family or church. TENA COWAN lives in Rural Alabama in a multi generational home, with her husband John of recently 25 years. She spent her daughter’s formative years homeschooling . She is a freelance author with a passion for cooking, as well as travel, and teaching. Her family, faith, friends and community are of her greatest assests. She was an Army Brat born in California, moved all over and after her husband left the Navy they settled into Alabama’s traditional conservative countryside. Presently she writes from home caring for her disabled parents and mentally challenged daughter. Her ambition in life is to spread God’s word in whatever endeavor she takes on.
