Jim Walters, a.k.a. Joseph James Walters, felt the need to explain a life that never seemed to go anywhere. After a snakebitten high school life, he raced through Notre Dame in only nine years to obtain a degree in industrial management that he never used. He then picked up a master’s degree at Indiana University to keep up with those staying in school to avoid Vietnam. Of course, that second degree was also worth little. He did, however, find his lifetime employment niche while in the army as a keypuncher.
