About the Author
I have been married for 16 years to a man of faith. We have two wonderful children who keep us busy, a daughter age 12 and a son age 9. We believe that children are a gift of love. Children can and will do amazing things. Our son has Asperger’s Syndrome. Through his daily challenges we have learned and continue to learn what each stage of life encompasses for him and how his needs affects the rest of the family dynamics. We continue to learn how to stay strong through difficult situations. We know that there is strength in challenges and we tackle each day in that fashion. And although some days are harder than others, just as life is, we start fresh with each new day. As our daughter nears the teenage years, our focus for our daughter is to remain positive, supportive and faithful while she finds her way in life. We want her to know that struggles she will face can be overwhelming and our goal for her is to know that she has a purpose and she can make a difference as she grows through those hardships. My husband and I both work in stressful jobs. I have been a court reporter for 17 years in the criminal system. My husband has been in law enforcement for 23 years in various assignments but currently holds the title of Homicide Detective. Needless to say, our day changes in a moment’s notice after a call out or last minute deadline. Through this we have learned to be flexible and adjust. The rule in our house is only one of us can be stressed at a time. I am a long distance runner and one of the things I concentrate on is stamina. I look at life in the same way. Life is challenging, but life can be what one makes of it. So today, I invite you to travel through life with me tackling it with a new vision.
