About the Book

Dink heard a knock at the door and when he opened it, his friend Ruth Rose Hathaway was standing right in the door step. Ruth Rose likes to dress in one color from head to toe. "Where is Josh"? asked Dink. "Oh, he's packing up apples for us because we are going on the Indian island", said Ruth Rose. "Are we going now"? asked Dink. "Yes, we are", Ruth Rose said. Suddenly he heard another knock at the door. "Enter", said Dink and Ruth Rose together. It was Josh Pinto, their friend. He had a big sack of apples and three bottles of water. "Come on, we are going on a picnic to the Indian island", anxiously yelled Josh. "OK", exclaimed Ruth Rose and Dink. "Mom! Ruth Rose, Josh, and I are going on a picnic"! Dink yelled out loud to his mom. "OK, but stay together and have fun", said Dink's mother. Dink opened the back door. "Hmm, this feels good"! exclaimed Josh.
