After Miss Gomez’s Sixth Grade Precisely and Permanently Perfect Class adopts Jewel, an Asian Elephant from the Los Angeles Zoo, their world turns upside down. With Jewel’s help, the students travel to Planet Species, a secret planet no human has ever been to before! As Miss Gomez’s students encounter various species, they discover why the animals had to leave Earth. About the Author

All About the Authors The students in Miss Gomez’s Sixth Grade Class are from Lake Forest, California. These 27 students decided they wanted to try to save threatened animals and help people remember extinct ones. They started by adopting Jewel, an Asian Elephant at the Los Angeles Zoo. Next, each student studied a different extinct or threatened animal. Many long research hours later, each student contributed to making a book, in hopes of showing the world that they can help!
