When I was born, the world moved slower. I remember lazy summer days, days when I was downright bored actually. My childhood was not idyllic; but it was quiet. Even with my piano practice and studies, I didn’t feel that rushed. But now — now that my children are raised and my grandchildren are coming; now that I am experiencing the aches and pains of middle age; and now that I realize there is still so much I want to do and see — now I am in a hurry. I have lost one of my four boys, and a daughter-in-law. I have seen my other three boys get married, the last one last week! I have lost a father, a mother-in-law, and my oldest friend one month ago.
