About the Book

This book is dedicated to everyone who has been abused in one form or another by the hands of someone they loved and trusted. Although, this book is based upon a true story names have been changed and some events are fictional. This is a young girl´s tragic story of a trust being broken explicitly by someone she loved and trusted very much. From childhood to adulthood Kate will endure some of the most horrendous abuse one could ever imagine. When Kate reached the age of twelve, her father will abuse her in the worst way imaginable, making it hard for Kate to ever trust anyone again. Surviving through several unforgivable events with her father and stepmother Kate will escape one abusive family, only to go and live with another. Kate will try to put her past behind her as she goes to live with a mother she never knew, unaware that she is about to be subjected to another form of abuse as she enters her mother´s world of drugs and deceit. Struggling to overcome everything that crosses her path Kate will find true love, something she never thought she would ever have. Through all her hardships, sadness, and disparity Kate will prevail in the end becoming a survivor of this cruel world instead of a victim left behind. At the age of twelve a child´s life should be carefree and full of fun, but for Kate this would not be so. Soon she would grow up the hard way and fast, a trust would be broken and a relationship destroyed forever. Living with her father and step-mother life was far from being easy, Kate did not know her real-mother for she and her father had divorced when Kate was just two years of age, with her father getting custody of Kate and her brother Mark. Neither of the children allowed speaking of, or asking about their real mother. For as long as Kate could remember she had always called her stepmother mom, she was nice and had treated Kate and Mark as if they were her own children. That was until the summer of Kate´s twelfth birthday, the summer that changed Kate´s life forever. Their father was a cold and ruthless man, not one you would want to cross, for if you did you would undoubtedly feel the wrath of his anger remembering it for days if not years afterwards. Kate will endure some of the most horrendous abuse one could ever imagine by the hands of her father. Unable to take anymore Kate will find the strength and courage from within as she stands up to her father and exposes him for the monster he is. Relieved that her horrible ordeal is finally over with, Kate will become devastated once again as her family turns on her blaming her for everything that has occurred. Kate doesn´t know which is worse; the abuse she endured from her father for many years or the way her family turned on her. Even her stepmother who had been so supportive in the beginning changed during the trail turning against her as well. With her step-grandmother standing behind her Kate trudges on as she faces her father and family in the courtroom. Kate figured that once her father was found guilty and sent away things would change between her and her stepmother, but this was not to be so. Her stepmother seemed to become angrier with Kate as she herself began to verbally and physically abuse Kate. Unable to endure anymore of the abuse Kate takes a drastic step to change her life. With the help of her step-grandmother her real mother is contacted and Kate will go to live with her to try and start a new life. It doesn´t take Kate long to learn that trust can be broken in many ways as she enters her mother´s world of drugs and deceit. Her mother´s life-style is far different than from what Kate is use to, and she quickly learns why she and her brother were never allowed to ask about their mother. Kate instantly becomes a live-in baby-sister, and someone to clean up after her mother and her friends. During the first year of living with her mother a special pe
