Chapter 1: Introduction to what Seismic data management is all about including the 'golden' rules in data management in general.
Chapter 2: History of early seismic, seismic waves in the very basic form of explanation, storage media and geophysics& geology software workstations.
Chapter 3: Touches on Seismic Surveys (2D & 3D), surveys basemap, 3D surveys definition.
Chapter 4: Deals with Coordinate Reference System (CRS) which is one of important fundamentals when acquiring 2D or 3D surveys and generation of basemaps. It includes standard parameters involved in determining CRS datum plus simple exercises on coordinates of surveys crossing 2 UTM zones. Here we ONLY touch UTM but can be any Projections Coordinate System.
Chapter 5: Detailing the Flow in Data Management i.e. the 8 Golden Rules are elaborated here.
Chapter 6: Involves in analyzing SEGY formatted seismic headers. Here we will 'pinch-out' relevant info needed for our job in defining 2D or 3D surveys, understanding the basics of sample rate, data bits and seismic polarity.
Chapter 7: Here we reveal basic of general seismic data loading what to watch out for, so as NOT to get caught flat-footed when seismic data are loaded wrongly.
Chapter 8: This is NOW been applied globally — Data Harmonization or in laymen's term — Data Clean. Here our seismic data are checked for duplication, right coordinate system applied, validated for the right scaling parameters and proper documentations generated for future references and audit.
Last but not least Chapter 9: This is where we elaborate in extent the backup and archive steps.
In addition, Appendix F, schematically depicts how a seismic trace is generated in the very basic form of explanation and Appendix L, lays out step by step 2D and 3D seismic data loading.

The book will pave the way for O&G Data Management personnel to have a firm grip in handling seismic data entrusted to them, and to deal with the data in a professional way with no "cutting corners".
It must be noted that when dealing with seismic data management, the word "novice" is not in the work vocabulary.
Throughout this book, O&G Data Management personnel get to understand the basics of the seismic data and their management, and acquire additional skill that can be applied to any sub-surface data management with minimal changes to the workflow

About the Author
The Author has venture out globally to accumulate wealth of experience and technical know-how for the last 30+ years (last 20+ years as a freelancer). Currently mentoring at clients’ site to share with potentials Data Managers the invaluable management flows of one of the most important entity in any Industry – Data.
