About the Book

This book is a personal account of what it’s like to have a sickle cell crisis. It’s perceived from an eight-year-old me. From the moment I awoke to after the stay in the hospital with adding humor and information.

About the Author

Ferdinand Thomas Jr. is the oldest of three children—all born with sickle cell anemia (SCA). He is married to Latosha, and they have two beautiful children, Nia Unique and Christian Matthew. He in his midthirties, and by the grace of God, he received a master’s degree in special education after enduring a massive stroke due to SCA.
