About the Book

This is a collection of poems I wrote between 2000 and present. There are about thirty-three to thirty-six poems in here. In my opinion, “Kids Are Our Future” and “Marriage in the New Century” are my two best poems. I wrote both poems at the start and have won two editor’s choice awards for outstanding achievement in poetry. Been inducted in the Poetry Hall of Merit, been published in the UK, won a twenty-four-karat gold lapel pin. One of the poems a friend took and turned into a song and used it for his wedding song. I am very proud of all the accomplishments theses poems have done and decided to put them into a book.

About the Author

My name is Frederick Combs. I was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 26, 1966. I have lived in most of the states in the United States. I have a brother that was born in Connecticut, one born in Road Island, another born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and a sister born in Connecticut that is on my mom’s side. Then on my dad’s side, I have two sisters. I never met my dad and finally met my two sisters in November 2001. Met my aunts and uncles in February 2002 for the first time. I spent most of my life growing up in five cities. I was in a foster home from the time I was seven till I was twelve and a half years old in Columbus, Ohio. After Mom got us back, we moved to Dallas, Texas, where we lived from the time I was twelve till I was thirteen and a half years old, then we moved to Bear Point, Alabama. I was always coming up with a way to make friends and earn money from the time I was twelve years old. I have a daughter who is twenty-five years old and a son both living in Missouri. And I started writing in 2000. My first poem was “Kids Are Our Future.” The second poem was “Marriage in the New Century.” Both have won me editor’s choice awards for outstanding achievements in poetry.
