Love Whoever said love don’t cost a thing Must not know a thing about love Or the affects it can have on a man How you can be broken by a kiss or hug I’ve been a fool for love Like a fiend for drugs Battered and bruised Betrayed and used By friends and enemies Even by those kin to me And it all remains the same That where there’s love, there’s also pain It can have you mixed up Messed up, lost and confused Or at a standstill of what Direction you should choose I’ve been so scared to love Cause it’s so hard to let go And even when you wear a mask There’s other ways for your feelings to show So many ways for your feelings To get you caught up So many ways to love based on How you’ve been brought up See love is like a sickness… Whoever said what don’t kill you Makes you stronger was right Cause love will bring your soul rest Yet keep you up all night It can heal a heart by being Used in soft words Like a master piece when it’s displayed A melody so precious when heard Given to those that don’t deserve Yet love makes the world go round But it can lead hands to crime The same way it can bring clarity It can bring poison to your mind Maybe in time, You’ll find Love just isn’t fair And sometimes when you look for it, it’s not there Sometimes people do love you It’s just that they don’t care Love can be so demanding What you’d do for it would leave you stunned But it’s gotta be worth it If GOD gave his only begotten son Some say love is blind And love is kind Love is supposed to be strong enough To stand the test of time But if you look closely One will find That love can be gone at the drop of a dime The very thing that will make you happy Can hurt you and make you cry Leave you so lost And have you wondering why Why you have to say goodbye When in your heart love remains And the tears still fall like the rain As you try to maintain And keep your mind sane Try to get through the pain And find the courage To love again 10/7/06
