About the Book

Do you remember as a child looking up at a bird and saying, “How I wish I was a bird flying high in the sky”? Perhaps you thought, “What would it be like to be a whale swimming in the ocean or a cow lying down in a cool green pasture?” If I Was A . . . is a book written for babies to preschool-age children. In its original form, it was a song written to teach kids about their self-worth and the realization that we are all made by a great and awesome God. This book takes in the imaginary world of a young child looking at God’s amazing creation and thinking what it would be like to be some of those things. It resolves with a strong statement to the child that he or she is the best of all created things because they are a child of God.

About the Author

Born in Hartford, Connecticut, the oldest of six children, Grampa Quigley began writing songs at the age of thirteen, teaching himself to play guitar, piano, and bass. In April of 1999, Grampa Quigley was ordained as a worship leader/psalmist and continues to write songs for adults and children alike. His ministry has taken him to three continents where he has taught songwriting and worship leading. He continues to write songs and stories that glorify the Lord and to teach children and adults how to grow closer to God.
