The Blue Door

Chapter 1 Is thing on? It is? Ok, where the fuck do I begin? Oh Yeah! My name is, who knows this time? No scrub that! I was originally Robyn Jackson. I am Robin Jackson. I grew up in Broady which kind of explains my youthful charm. My childhood was a typical one for my neighbourhood. Left school at fifteen, learnt how to steal and con others for money. Made a reasonable living out of it. But by twenty I knew that I wanted something more. Did not expect this though. I wasn't too bad at school. I was even very good at Maths and Science but Broady chicks left at fifteen, got some man to look after them and eventually got pregnant and lived off welfare. Well I've never been pregnant but like most of the girls from my area, I was good at making bad choices. My worst was the peanut who was my boyfriend just before all this happened. Morry, his name was. Right loser, but he did take care of me for a while. I tumbled to him though when he was getting me to pick up little packages from the local. I looked inside one time. This loser was on Ecstasy. I couldn't do much about it though. He was the source of my income up until then. Oh, right. You're probably more interested in what happened to me on my little trip. Yeah let's call it a little trip! Well the night it started was one of those nights where I was picking up his little package. He was up in the city that night but I was supposed to meet him back at the flat we had just started to rent. On my way back there, I was convinced that this loser had to go. I was going to toss out his things and lock the door. I could support myself, I thought. I didn't need him. All I need do is get a job, any job, and I would be free of this loser. All of this was running through my head when someone came up behind me and grabbed my arm. They said I was nicked! It was the cops! This bozo then felt in my bag and took out the little package. He gave it to his partner and he pocketed it. The first one put cuffs on me and then pushed me into their police car. The other one had gone back into the pub to grab the guy who supplied me the drugs. The first copper was leaning against the car waiting for him. Stupid cops! I was out of those cuffs in one minute. I then leant over to the front seat and reached underneath the console. I knew where the secret switch was to open the doors from the inside. I sneaked out of the rear door and hightailed back to the flat. Change of plan. I needed to make myself scarce. So I'll be the one to leave. I started to get all my things together. Well as much as I could fit into my bag and was about to leave, when there was a knocking on my front door. My peephole showed that it was the same two cops. They knew where I lived! Why was I so stupid to come back to the flat? Of course at this point, I needed to get away. You need to realise that I was on the second floor of the building. There was no balcony or fire escape to run down. There was no other way out of the flat except through the door where these two bozo cops were waiting. I thought about jumping out the window but it was too far. The only other option was to hide. But where? That's when I noticed the blue door. I'll swear it wasn't there the day before when we moved in, but there it was, as if it had been there all the time. I initially thought it was a cupboard or something, so I opened it and that's when I noticed this shimmering light covering the whole doorway. No time to ponder how weird this was, I jumped straight through and closed the door behind me. If I kept really still and held the door, I could hide in this cupboard for ages! That's when my adventure started. Can you picture this? Before the door, I was dressed in jeans and T-shirt with runners. After I closed the door, I was dressed in a power suit, flat shoes and even had my hair pulled back. To top it off, I even had a belt on with some sort of badge clasped on it. My weirdness factor went through the roof. I was just looking at myself, wondering how a shimmering light could dress me so quickly.
