About the Book
The Vessel is a five chapter, nonfiction book based on the life of a psychic woman named Marie Nan. The book delineates this native New Yorker’s life from childhood in the 1950s to adulthood. It details a journey in which Marie is emotionally impacted by both her psychic experiences and her extraterrestrial encounters. Her fear of both unknowns impels her to seek spiritual guidance from Maria. As a santera, Maria channels a spirit who explains to Marie her mission in life. Throughout the book, Marie’s frightening experiences are intertwined with her personal life’s successes and disappointments. She is married more than once and has a daughter, whom she knows has been a victim of an encounter of the third kind. Her family’s psychic and alien-related experiences are also interlaced into Marie’s journey. Throughout her life, Marie accepts her spiritual experiences but continues to question the purpose for her alien-related encounters. Ultimately, Marie seeks a regression to uncover why she has been chosen.
About the Author
Elle Brian is a retired female sailor who worked as a navy journalist for almost two decades. During this period of time, she completed invaluable basic and advanced navy journalism training. She also completed unrelated bachelor’s, graduate, and post-graduate degrees to satisfy needed credentials in her human services field. Her journalism experience involves writing for military newspapers and magazines she created. Elle also worked with navy public affairs and was responsible for reporting military news via live radio and human services ads. Her desire to write led her to privately investigate topics questioning the unknown. During her travels, she met Marie Nan, a woman who was also in the military. Marie’s disturbing and frightening experiences awoke a desire in Elle to publish Marie’s partial biography. Elle and Marie were able to connect on a very personal level because they were both Hispanic and from New York City. Their military experiences also helped them bond as friends. Elle understood that becoming a ghost writer for Marie would help Marie share a message she felt was important to the world. Marie wanted to disclose that there is a spiritual world beyond this realm and that the earth is, in fact, being visited by extraterrestrials with a powerful and often frightening agenda.
