Bolt of Lightning: The Story of a Stroke Survivor tells about a stroke occurring to a thirty-six-year-old man in the prime of life, and how he and his family dealt with all the changes that happened as a result. It covers a number of episodes in his life, illustrating that even though stroke can cause severe disabilities, the survivor, with persistence and help from family and friends, can make a good life for himself again.
About the Author
Irene M. Chandler was born in 1944 in Nampa, Idaho, and raised on a ranch in Owyhee County. After graduating from Grandview High School (now Rimrock), she continued her education for two and a half years at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Irene had a long career in the banking industry and then at Amalgamated Sugar Co., working in the accounting office. She has two grown children and lives with her husband of fifty-one years in Nampa. She enjoys art, reading, sewing, weaving, and Bible study.
