About the Author
Violence was becoming more common with the army vets. As Billy put it, “It came with the territory.” They would, from time to time, have a person that did not make good on a bet or a loan, and he or she would turn up with a broken bone or two. They had a run in with a street gang that had robbed their supplier. Not only did they murder the gang’s leader, but they also murdered the next two highest ranking members of the gang. That sent a strong message in the streets, and all other groups began to fear the army vets. For the next several years, things ran smoothly with just a minor bump here and there.
