About the Book

Because of their youth and immaturity, “Jean’s” marriage to William Spradley, Sr., at a very young age was predicted to fail, but it survived fifty-nine years until his death in 1999. God provided them with three wonderful children, Bill, Jr., Betina and Bruce. She proudly claims that among her children and grandchildren a great deal of talent exists! Eugenia lives near Savannah, Georgia, close to her much-loved younger brother and wife, many nieces and nephews, and her church family and friends.

About the Author

Eugenia was born to Thomas and Bessie Burke Haralson just as the Florida building boom of the 1920’s came to a halt and the 1930’s Depression began. Her parents and maternal grandparents, Sam and Lucinda Ledbetter Burke, played a vital part in her and her siblings’, Sarah and Thomas, spiritual upbringing. In Sylvester, Georgia, where she lived during the 30’s, her mother’s hymn singing, trips to the lumber yard or grocery store with her father, cottage prayer meetings, county fairs, long walks and wild berry picking in the spring, and trips to her grandparents’ home in the country created beautiful memories she will always remember.
