About the Book

Ever since he started writing, Corbin Nielsen wished to share his words with the world. A Thousand Cranes is a compilation of poems and short stories that Corbin penned throughout high school. Even though many pieces in this volume are products of an academic exercise, the selections are curated to create an exciting journey for the reader. Themes of speaking out, keeping silent, telling jokes, telling the truth, and living with faithful or mysterious companions intertwine through nonlinear story lines. A Thousand Cranes is Corbin’s first, but certainly not last, effort to capture the paradoxical, quirky details of growing up.

About the Author

Corbin Nielsen aspired to write creatively as a pre-teen. His first efforts in creative voice were marked by stories that captured the paradoxical and sometimes quirky details of growing up. Through poetry, prose, and interactive storytelling, Corbin reflects on the meaningful and integral parts of Life in Suburbia. A Thousand Cranes is a slim volume that can serve as the introduction into what may come from this young author. Even though many of the pieces in A Thousand Cranes are products of an academic exercise, Corbin curated and ordered the pieces to create energy and excitement for the reader.
