About the Book

“For his anger endureth but for a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning” (Ps. 30:5, KJV). So is Broken for a Blessing: It is from a weeping night to a joyful morning—from brokenness to restoration. At some point, one will face some kind of turmoil, storm, or darkness. However, each of these can also be seen as a developing process. Like bread when it is broken: whenever a bread is broken: it meant, someone is getting ready to eat. This is the same from hurting to healing. God breaks you to heal you or turn you into a better person. This is what Broken for a Blessing is about. In this book, the author wrote ten chapters as he considers the number 10 to be significant. He talks about events that were written about in the Bible and uses the number as a metaphor of one’s destiny. He also uses the number 10 as a metaphor in his own life journey. When he was ten years old, he played a game called the ten steps to Zion. In the game, each of the competitors would hold a Bible. The judge would say “Sword in hand” and then give the competitors a Bible verse, and whoever found it first would take a step. The game would end when a player reached the tenth bench. The author would always be the one who would reach the tenth bench first. In addition, the author started his life in the United States with ten dollars; he actually started with a hundred dollars, but he used ninety dollars of that amount just to pay his rent. He was married for ten years before he suffered a broken marriage. It was during his time of brokenness and isolation when God revealed the book in his spirit, Broken for a Blessing. This book will inspire you and will let you know that there’s hope and a purpose for you. You should not get bitter when you are broken; rather, you should understand that you are going through to make yourself better. Whatever comes to break you should be seen as something that is coming to make you. There’s a process in the making and a process in becoming. This is not the time for you to break down; it’s the time for you to break through.

About the Author

Since he was a young man, Paul has been trying to become successful. Despite his many failures and setbacks, Paul has never given up; he always has a will and a desire to succeed. There was always some kind of adventure that he would find himself taking part in. He was known to be a very competitive young man and would do whatever was necessary to win because he never dreamed of seeing himself lose. He has been on stage and rapping with his own lyrics and always entertaining people since his younger days. He was also an athlete who competed in boxing and running. He has won many trophies and awards and was once called the Trophy Man. Paul has never considered himself to be great or famous. Despite his achievements and accomplishments, he still sees himself beyond closed doors, trying to find his purpose and the greatness from within. This is because he believes that greatness has no boundaries. Despite his failures, he understands that one will never understand who they really are in life until they are ready to live beyond themselves. Failure will always be your biggest fear and your biggest challenge. However, failure can be your own self. It will always be in front of you because it wants to block the person you are within. It’s a fight between the person in front of you and the person in you. The person that you are is the champion within. This means, whatever comes to defy you, comes to define the person you are from within. The only time fear or failure can defeat you is when you accept them. Living beyond yourself will help you make the impossible possible. The self will tell you that you can’t, while the person beyond you will tell you that you can. You have to tell yourself, “You are more than a conqueror. You are an overcomer because there is a greater you in you.” Living beyond yourself will let you see the greater you in you. People who became great—like the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the former US president Barack Obama, and the late Nelson Mandela—had to face many challenges that were in front of them. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had to face police dogs, beatings, and many other forms of opposition, but he continued to pursue his dream. Nelson Mandela was willing to fight apartheid and never gave up on fighting for freedom. He spent twenty-seven years in prison and still became the president of South Africa. He understood that his imprisonment defined the person he was on the inside. It did seem very impossible for a black man to become the president of the United States of America. However, because Mr. Obama believed in the person he was, he was willing to face the impossible and willing to face the jeers and criticism. He became the first black president and even served two consecutive terms. In addition, he went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize and proved to the world that nothing is impossible if you believe in the person in you.
