After their baths, Levi and Mikey ran down to check on Kitty before bed. Grandma Frances was there with the dog in her lap. Mikey quickly asked, “Is she all better?” Levi asked, “All better?” He was in his favorite green and white wooly pj’s. Levi would not sleep in anything else. Mikey figured it was just another bit of Levi’s charm. Grandma looked at her grandbabies and said no. “But you know what we can do to help little Miss. Kitty? Let’s say a prayer—just for her. What we see as hopeless, God sees as a chance to amaze,“ Grandma said. “You think so, Grandma?” Mikey asked. “Absolutely! Positively! If you have faith, God can do awesome things,” Grandma said with a smile.

The family dog, Kitty, is sick. Mikey and her little brother, Levi, are quite worried. Their parents try to assure them that Kitty will be just fine. They only need to be patient. Grandma Frances reminds Mikey that, along with patience, they could all do something very special for Kitty: Pray! What may seem impossible for man is always possible for God. After what seems like a long night, Mikey may see that faith shines brightest in the dark.
