My thoughts were interrupted when a gunshot suddenly echoed all around us and my head shot up, a loud gasp escaped me when more gunshots rang out and all of the men shot for cover. The bandits cheered as those with guns shot at the wall and those on it while the men behind the wall saved ammo and just hid, an arm grabbed mine and I was pulled fully to the ground as a body covered mine. I managed to look up and saw that it was Morgan laying over me and although I was afraid of him I also took comfort in his body shielding me, a warmth dripped on my face suddenly and lifting a hand I wiped at it frowning. Pulling my hand away from my face I stared wide eyed at the red liquid that smeared my hand and cheek, following where the liquid could have come from I gasped loudly seeing a stain on Morgan's shirt

About the Book
In a post-apocalyptic world where strange creatures roam killing all the humans they can, a young girl named Rae tries to survive. After fleeing an Army base overrun by creatures Rae and a group of children find themselves taken by a group of men in an isolated village up high in the mountains. Rae tries to fight for her freedom and that of the children while the men have other plans for them. It doesn't take long before Rae finds out that the men aren't what they seem to be and are hiding an even bigger secret than she could have guessed.
