About the Book

This book is a memoir that explores issues related to the author’s heritage and life experiences. It also touches upon issues regarding racism and anti-racist attitudes. Although our families and society help shape us into the people we become, we often have questions. If our relatives don’t provide answers because they refuse to discuss such issues, it causes frustration and misunderstandings. For many years, that was the life this author led. Through finally researching her lineage, she discovered the answers she sought for a lifetime, to questions about who she was.
This book serves as an example for others who might feel confused about who they are, as well as a guide to obtaining the answers they need.

About the Author

Lorna Sutherland was born in August 1942 in Fort Frances, Ontario. She is an author who currently lives in Thunder Bay.

Lorna’s educational achievements include a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in Women’s Studies. She also wrote a book called Ice Hockey Beginnings, which was influenced by her family, gender, understanding, and the community in which she grew up.

This is her second book.
