About the Book

Having announced the underlying principles of a governing system designed to protect God’s endowment of rights to mankind, the American founding fathers reasoned that God would be pleased with their efforts. So pleased, the founding fathers theorized that their new nation would be protected by divine Providence. The American founders´ stated that rationale within the expressions of the Declaration of Independence. The American Experiment is designed to test the founders´ theory.

In A Larger Sense analyzes the overriding theory that explains America’s founding. The ramifications of the American Theory are multifaceted. For example, readers of In A Larger Sense will come to realize that no tool of American government, including the American courts, wielding the sovereign authority reasoned to exist on July 4th 1776, may authoritatively deny the fact of God’s existence. That is because God is the source of all American sovereign authority. Without God, that authority does not exist. The Constitution changes none of that. The speeches and writings of Abraham Lincoln indicate his understanding of designed link of authority that connects the expressions of the Declaration of Independence to the Constitution.

Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address is a direct acknowledgement of the American Theory. Readers will discover that, as Lincoln decided the actions that ultimately saved the “last best hope of earth” from extinction, our 16th president operated within the mode intended by the founders who designed the American Experiment.
