About the Book
Jacqulyn Clayborn (Jackie) was born in San Francisco, California, where she was surrounded by a lot of family, especially her aunt Cora and cousin Callie, who did a lot of baking. Sunday was the day for large family dinners, which included a vast array of cakes, pies, and other specialty deserts. The aunts and relatives who came from Louisiana and Mississippi came with many recipes and baking skills. Jackie was taught to make her first cake at age nine. The lessons and skills she gained at the knees of her aunts and relatives has become a second nature of Jackie’s. Family, friends, and coworkers in the San Francisco and Oakland Bay area and other family venues have enjoyed her delicious cakes, pies, and other deserts. It is Jackie’s joy of baking that has led to her compiling this cookbook. It is her sincere desire that you try these recipes, and that you enjoy them as much as she and her family have.
