About the Book
This is a story of how to become a ventriloquist as told by a wooden boy named Lindy. Because everyone calls him a dummy he needs a friend. Lindy attempts to inspire his new-found reader friend to try to become a ventriloquist and is happy to share some of the secrets that will help. He also introduces some of his puppet neighbors. There is a thread of mystery as he searches for his much needed personal puppet who has disappeared.
About the Author
Despué de jubilarse, Ruth Means comenzó a estudiar español. Este cuento lo escribió para una de sus clases. Quería ilustrarlo, y a los ochenta y cuatro años cuenta que necesitaba aprender a dibujar. Estos son sus primeros esfuerzos, hechos con bolígrafo de fieltro. Viuda con cinco hijos, se graduó tres veces de la Universidad de Arizona y llegó a ser maestro. Es autora de otros dos libros en ingles. After retiring Ruth Means began to study Spanish. She wrote this story for one of her classes. She wanted to illustrate it and at age eighty-four decided she needed to learn to draw. These are her first efforts, done with felt pens. A widow with five children, she graduated three times from the University of Arizona and became a teach. She is the author of two other books in English.
