This is the fourth book in the Great Woods Books series. In this adventure, the author’s grandson, Martin, once again accompanied by the family’s faithful Old English sheepdog, Chaucer, explores the Great Woods.
Martin, whose father is an accomplished guitar player, takes one of his dad’s old guitars with him into the woods where he intends to practice. To Martin’s surprise, the woodland animals gather round, and he finds that magically, they can play and sing. The result is Martin’s Band.
Craig Howarth, who illustrated the first three books, has once again graciously provided the wonderful illustrations in this book.
The author and grandfather of Martin practices law in Northern Illinois and lives with his wife, Joann, at the edge of the Great Woods.
