About the Author

Alice Horwill-Leech is a registered but retired teacher with many years of teaching experience, especially in the literacy fi eld. horwill-Leech is a trained primary school teacher who has taught a wide age range of students, from preparatory grade to year 10 and also mature aged and english as a second language (e.S.L.) students, furthermore she has also assessed literary work of tertiary students. Additional academic qualifi cations include Infant Teachers’ Certifi cate, post graduate Diploma in Special education and a Master of education degree. Professional development has also been undertaken for reading recovery, thraSS (teaching handwriting, reading and Spelling Skills), Cued articulation and adult literacy.
