This is the remarkable and unique story of a man who went from working as a hotel desk clerk and part-time theatre actor to being a philanthropic multimillionaire spare-parts entrepreneur in the aircraft industry. It is also an anecdotal account of what it was like as his son to be growing up in his household in Southern California in the 1940s and 1950s.
About the Author
As a boy growing up in his father's household in Southern California in the I 940s and l950s, the younger Mr. Ridley-Tree saw and at times took part in the amazing and unique way in which his father started and built his business. Vickers went on to earn a BA at UCLA and an MA at SFSU in anthropology. His master's thesis was based on two years which he spent in the mid- I 960s doing community development work in Bolivia as a Peace Corps volunteer. He is the father of two great daughters and three lovely grandchildren. He now spends most of his time in San Francisco and in Boulder Creek, California.
