About the Author

Author Bio Kathryn Gordon Evans has always loved picture books. Growing up in Greenville, South Carolina, Kathryn was immersed in wonderful literature from her mother's classroom. She had a wonderful childhood where she was encouraged to try everything from music, dance, acting, art, horseback riding and many sports. In turn, Kathryn chose the education field where she was able to use her vast experience to build creative learning environments for her students. She holds an Elementary Education degree from Clemson University and an IT Masters degree from the University of Georgia. Kathryn spends her time with her husband, Andrew, enriching the lives of her two sons, Grayson and Jackson, in the hopes that they too will explore the vast opportunities the world around them offers. Illustrator Bio Kaitlin M. Messich has been drawing and coloring since as long as she could hold a crayon. A native of Greenville, South Carolina, Messich grew up watching her mother complete a variety of artistic tasks from watercolor child portraits to mural painting and developed a love for all things creative. Currently, Messich is a Senior Designer at the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, where she completes research-based design illustrations and visual concepts for downtowns, county governments, rural, and coastal areas in the state of Georgia. Messich holds Masters degrees in both Historic Preservation and Fine Arts from the University of Georgia. Messich resides in Athens, Georgia with her husband, Reid, and daughter, Lowry.
