Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Panama produce some of the great players currently performing in the major and minor leagues. But some of the most promising prospects never had the chance to play in America even though they resided only ninety miles off the coast of Florida. For many years, that was the harsh reality for Cuban baseball players.
