About the Author

Micheline Gadbois MacDonald was born in 1928 in Montréal Québec where she lived until 1962 when she moved to Saint John New Brunswick upon her marriage to Walter MacDonald. She started writing seriously in 1987 when she joined the Saint John Writers' Group. After penning several short stories, mostly about her childhood in the Province of Québec, she decided to concentrate on the story of her ancestor Marie Pomponnelle. Micheline is a direct descendant of Marie through her maternal grandmother.
