About the Author

Monica S. Hatley-Carr grew up in Gurdon, Arkansas. It was there she learned how to appreciate the value of a good education through examples given by her mother and father. With the combination of her mother’s creative talents and her father’s sense of business, she was able to inherit the know-how to use her talents in every career she has been in, which ranges from news producer to public relations. Once she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, with her husband, she became a substitute teacher to elementary school children. While teaching, she found a beautiful thing that differed from any job she’d held in her whole life—happiness. It made her smile to help students mold their futures. That’s why she decided to finish writing the book I Love the Color Pink! The Adventures of Laci Macasey. Her niece, Laci, wrote a small book on how much she loved the color pink when she was in the third grade, which inspired the story you hold in your hands at this moment.
