About the Book

Bubble, Bubble, Pop! is a collection of ten stories for children of all ages. The author and illustrator of this treasury of love shows through the power of the written word, the depth of relationships children can have with their parents and grandparents. The stories are quite charming but they also remind us of the importance family activities have on developing a close bond with a child and developing his/her positive self-image.

Grandfathers show a whole new side of themselves when they relate with a grandchild. They do things that under normal circumstances they would never imagine doing. Hannah’s grandfather in Grandpa’s Keeping Me Today is always a barrel of fun but today his inner child really comes out to play. Grandpa allows Hannah to style his normally shaved head. What a sight to behold!

In Painting Grandpa’s Nails, Hannah’s grandfather tries to cheer her up by getting into the box of crayons. He goes to town coloring the most unusual things.

In Sunday’s Syrup, Hannah and Maya will enchant you. These two cousins experience berry picking and the making of chokecherry syrup from scratch. This syrup is made especially for PePère’s pancakes.

Grandma’s Apron shows how an apron can be a very useful piece of clothing. It can be used for dusting and wiping perspiration but also to show love.

Otto and the World Above is about a little perch that sees a beautiful yellow light filtering down from a fish hole in the lake’s ice. Intrigued by the light, Otto dreams of seeing the world above. His wish comes true when Marnie, a fish derby participant catches him. Is it all that he hoped for?

In Froggies, Dinosaurs…No, I Like Puppies, Maya has been begging her parents for a pet to no avail. Out of the blue they say, “Yes!” A visit to the pet shop proves to be disastrous. Finding the perfect pet is not as easy as she thinks.

Excitement is in the air. In Princess Torynn’s Enchanted Day, Princess Torynn is to visit her grandparents who live in the Enchanted Forest, a magical and love-filled world. Strange and wonderful things happen to those who visit there.

In Parker and the Woolly Bear, Parker befriends a little caterpillar. She is so enraptured by the Woolly Bear that she spends the day with it doing what little two year olds do.

Where is that Sock? is a mystery that Emily cannot solve nor can she find her cat, Meow. Her favorite purple polka dotted socks are no longer a pair and now her cat is missing! Where is her one sock and where is her cat?

Grandma’s Gingerbread House made for Torrie, Iggy and Mikki at Christmas is magical. The girls are transported to the Ginger-Lane Express and taken to the North Pole where they are given a tour by Santa’s elf, Max. When they return Grandma deems it to be the imagination of the girls.
