About the Book

These recipes are rich in Native American folklore, retaining the quaint mystery which our forbears endowed them. These men and women found fullness of life in the quit woodlands of this great country. Let us give gratitude and adoration to the Great Spirit for their contribution. All of the Native American foods are not by any means contained in this endeavor, but surely some of the best are included. The world would surely be devoid of some of the best food if the Native American way of cooking should suddenly disappear.

About the Author

I am a 63 year old retired Cobol programmer, born and raised in the Washington, D.C. area. Graduated from Mainland Senior High School in Daytona Beach Fl. after moving there to live after my father got seriously ill. In 1966 Joined the Army after graduation and served for three years, met and married my wife in 1967 just before going overseas to serve a term of service in Korea. After coming home lived in Fayetteville NC. until 1972 when we moved back to Maryland to care for my Grandmother. Raised two daughters and was a 4 H leader from 1989 until 1995. Provided the horses for the Horse and pony club. After Daughters left home and started family’s of their own moved back to Florida to look after my mother who was living in the Tampa Bay area. In 2007 became a Pasco county Master Gardener thru the University of Florida. In researching my family history found that there was an American Native connection. I always loved to cook and collected cookbooks. All my friends told me that I should put my two loves together (cooking and Native history) so I started collecting Native American recipes which are now in this and several other books to come.
