About the Book

Riccard and Rowina are on a mission to find their missing father, Ivan. Eventually, they arrive in the town of Weirdsdale, near The Stove Pipe Mountains. One of these, Vulcan occasionally emits weird lights, during which men caught outside at night disappear. Suspecting that Ivan has been captured by ‘The Lights’ they access Vulcan, finding it to be the home of Foxwald, who assures them that Ivan is not in Vulcan, but he allows them to stay and search. During Foxwald's absence, battling the forces of evil, they find their father, though he does not recognize them. Returning Foxwald is shocked to find that he himself is responsible for their missing father.

About the Author

Ewart Jowett’s early life was plagued by illness and serious accidents necessitating much hospitalization and rehabilitation and he became an avid reader. He worked as a spectacle mechanic during WWII, built himself up at a local gym and learned the violin. Later escaping to the country he tried his hand at dairying, timber-felling, droving and mica prospecting in the Northern Territory. He settled in Northern NSW as a banana grower, married Jean and they had five children. After Jean died he married Tessie and had two more girls. All his children were nightly enthralled by his fascinating stories and one of these stories has developed into this book for all to enjoy.
