One day the cat named Bounce decides to leave her lazy friend Boots to search for her vocation in the countryside. She avoids the train to Stinky Whiff Gumboot. Being a resourceful busy-bee, a farmer and his wife take her in. Life for her becomes what cats say after a good dinner: “Totally riveting!”

About the Author

I was living in Auckland when Boots and Bounce came to visit me. One day the two cats appeared at my closed sliding door. Boots and Bounce were looking in at me and meowing very loudly. I was certain the cats were telling me that they were hungry, so I looked in the fridge and cupboards for suitable cat food. All I could fi nd was a carton of milk so I gave them each a large bowl. Boots and Bounce quickly lapped up the milk and licked their bowls clean. I patted them both and made a promise to them that if they came back tomorrow I would have more food for them. Early the next day I went to the supermarket and purchased a variety of cat food. Sure enough Boots and Bounce came to the sliding door and I gave them each a large bowl of cat food. From that day Boots and Bounce adopted me as their mother and they came to live with me. Animals need love and food just like us.
