About the Book

There are sections of Islamic History which mention Hasan-i-Sabbah briefly but no writer treats the subject in details. Hodgson and Lewis published under a misleading title of ‘Assassins’and more recently F. Daftary wrote a general history of the Ismailis. Thus there is a need of a book covering the topic in greater depth and details. Hasan Sabbah; His life and thought, covers the history of the Middle East Crusade Period. It also deals with the founder of the Nizari Ismaili State in the North Iran and Syria and against the powerful Seljuks and the Sunni Caliphate of Islam.

About the Author

Dr Ali Mohammad Rajput, B.A (Hons); M.A; M.Phil; PhD; F.S.S Dr Ali Mohammad Rajput is a retired professor of Statistics from Aston University in Birmingham, UK. Since his retirement he has spent the last 20 years travelling to Tajikistan in dedication to serving the Ismaili community in Tajikistan, particularly in the region of Badakhshan. Dr. Rajput is one of the first representatives sent to Tajikistan from Aiglemont, the office of his Highness the Aga Khan (49th Imam of the Ismailis) in the early 1990’s. Since then Dr Rajput spends 3-6 months of the year in Khorog where he has personally funded the building of community houses, which are open to the community for various use. Dr Rajput’s service to the community over the years has been acknowledged as the government of Tajikistan has issued Dr Rajput with the title of Honorary Citizen of Badakhshan region of Tajikistan. In addition, Dr Rajput is an elected Professor Emeritus at the Khorog State University (KHSU).
