About the Book

For over 30 years, these treasured poems have resided in a plain white notebook, largely unseen by the world. These poems were whispered to Connie by the Lord, written down on paper and shared with just a few special people.

As Connie has experienced the mending of her heart by Jesus Christ, so she has felt the leading to reach out and mend other hearts with the same love she found when she came to know Him. She has counseled women for many years and has a tremendous love and compassion for the hurting. For the last few years Connie has felt the Lord’s leading to put her poems into print with two purposes in mind:

to encourage those who are struggling
and to glorify the God she loves, the Master Heartmender.

May these words touch your heart and bring joy, peace and healing to your soul. May you come to know Jesus Christ’s immeasurable love and may He become your Heartmender.

About the Author

Connie Porcher was born in Galt, California, the next to the youngest of 9 children. In her teen years she moved to Elk Creek Rd. near the small town of Trail, OR. It was there she met her future husband, Tom. They were married in 1962 and blessed with 2 children, Lori and Randy. Family is important to Connie. She poured her life into her children, who in turn enriched her life with 10 grandchildren. At the age of 22, Connie came to know the Lord Jesus as her Savior and her life changed forever. Connie currently lives in a home on 5 acres in Southern Oregon. Connie’s house and yard are a delightful combination of warmth and whimsy. They are a reflection of who she is, warm, friendly, funny, loving and caring. She loves to grow flowers, make quilts and go to garage sales. In her spare time you can usually find her doing some sort of craft or reading. Connie has the ability and creativity to take something once thought useless and turn it into something beautiful and worth treasuring. She sees that same potential in people who are broken and hurting and has a gift of reaching out to those who hurt with the love of Christ. Connie has endured many trials of her own, a significant one was attending her own mother’s funeral on the day her daughter came into the world. Dealing with major physical challenges has only served to make Connie’s heart tender towards others who struggle and hurt.
