About the Author
Fred J. Stauffenger was born during the great depression in December of 1932 in the state of Ohio. He was the eldest of four children whose parents were farmers. His grandparents were farmers as well who had migrated from Switzerland. He graduated from high school in 1951 and shortly thereafter enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict at the age of eighteen. He served four years aboard the USS. Toledo a heavy cruiser that operated with the Seventh Fleet off the coastal waters of Korea, Japan, and the Far East. Discharged honorably in January of 1956 upon returning home to Ohio he became an apprentice tool & die maker and in the same year married a girl of Italian lineage. He and his wife Gail had three sons, who also married and as a result now have nine grandchildren. He always had a desire to write but seemed to never have the time until retirement. Not having the skill of typing, this his first fictional novel, A Space in Time, took two years to complete
