About the Book

J.R. Slimpot, is a story about an adventurous young man who comes out west from Iowa to find his treasure of Gold. On his way to the Gold Fields; he finds that he had been sitting on his Gold Mine all the time; And how he staked his claim to fame, and named the beautiful hamlet of Gunnysack Idaho, on the Salmon River, deep in the emerald valley of the Turtle Hump.

About the Author

J. Michael (Raeb) Shiverick Born in New York, I was fortunate to have moved out west to Idaho at an early age. Growing up on a farm overlooking the Capital city of Boise Idaho; with a railroad running behind our house, a beautiful cabin on Lake Payette; and hearing the many stories handed down about family, friends and acquaintances. Formed my inclination to write and illustrate a series of children’s story books. I’m very pleased to share with you, the Gunnysack Saga; based on past and present events, adventures, and fond memories in my life.
