About the Author

EDWARD HOWER is the author of six novels, The New Life Hotel, Wolf Tickets, Night Train Blues, Queen of the Silver Dollar, Shadows and Elephants, and A Garden of Demons. He also collected folk tales in rural India for a book, The Pomegranate Princess, while on two Fulbright Grants. The National Endowment for the Arts, the New York State Council on the Arts, and the Ingram Merrill Foundation have awarded him creative writing grants. He has taught at colleges in India and Kenya, as well as at Duke, Cornell, University of North Carolina, and Ithaca College.
